College Football America Publisher Kendall Webb has published his weekly update for the national high school football scene after Nov. 2.

There weren’t any national championship elimination games this week pitting teams from our Top 30 title contenders against each other, but that didn’t keep our No. 8 Ensworth (TN) Tigers from falling victim to the highly-regarded Brentwood (TN) Academy Eagles. They were the only team in our Top 30 to lose, and we head toward the postseason with only 29 teams still in the running for a share of the national championship.

GAME OF THE WEEK

No. 4 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA) Braves 24

MaxPreps No. 31 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) Monarchs 2

BELLFLOWER, CA – The No. 4 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, CA) Braves overcame a number of first-half gaffes to claim their second straight Trinity League championship with a 24-2 victory over the Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) Monarchs Friday night.

The Braves gave the Monarchs their only points of the game on a punt snap that sailed over the head of their punter, and missed out on scoring opportunities on the other end of the field on a fumble inside the Monarchs’ 10-yard line to go along with an interception in the end zone. And still the Braves led 14-2 to at the half en route to the win.
