First and 10 is RattleandHumSports.com’s breakdown of the 10 most important things to come out of each game for 2014. Today we’re focused on the season’s fourth game against the New Orleans Saints, which the Cowboys won.
The Dallas Cowboys are tied for first place in the NFC East after the first four weeks of the season. With the Philadelphia Eagles losing in San Francisco, the Cowboys and Eagles are now knotted at 3-1. I know I didn’t feel that would be the case after the first quarter of the season. I felt the Cowboys would be, at best, 2-2. When I look at the next four games (Texans, at Seahawks, Giants, Redskins), it’s starting to look like a distinct possibility these Cowboys could be 5-3, or even 6-2, at the halfway point — if — and I stress IF — the Cowboys continue to play the way they have this month. The Cowboys need to pile up the wins before their post-London bye, because the schedule gets brutal after that.
