Everyone has an opinion about which player the Dallas Cowboys will select with the No. 27 overall selection in the 2015 NFL Draft. Soon RattleandHumSports.com will release its first 2015 First-Round Mock Draft.
But until then it’s time to see what other experts believe the Cowboys will take in the first round as of Feb. 10. We’ll revisit our Dallas Cowboys 2015 Mock Draft Tracker periodically leading up to April’s draft in Chicago.
Rob Rang: Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE, UCLA
Dane Brugler: Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia
Pat Kirwan: Arik Armstead, DE, Oregon
Rang and Kirwan go defense and for good reason — the Cowboys had one of the worst pass rushes in the NFL in 2014 and improving it is paramount to duplicating their overall team success in 2014. Odighizuwa is a prototypical speed rusher for the right side, but there are injury concerns after he missed the entire 2013 season. Plus, he played in a 3-4 defense at UCLA. Armstead is enormous (6-foot-8, 296 pounds) and played end at Oregon. He might be a nice fit inside for the Cowboys, but after splitting time with the basketball team at Oregon he has some ground to make up. Gurley is probably the most refined product after three seasons as a starter at Georgia. Gurley has the build for the NFL but is recovering from an ACL tear, much like his former Georgia teammate, quarterback Aaron Murray, did a year ago leading up to the NFL Draft.
