Cornerback. So far this off-season the Cowboys have made no significant additions. Many mock drafts have the Cowboys taking a cornerback with their first-round pick, reasoning that most of the first-round graded defensive linemen will be off the board by the time the Cowboys select. Observers are also taking into account the fact that Brandon Carr may not be a Cowboy past this season, and that Morris Claiborne may not be ready for training camp. This is a solid draft for cornerbacks, as CBSSports.com has 12 cornerbacks in its top 100 players. Florida State’s P.J. Williams has come up frequently in mock drafts on this site and could be a legitimate selection on draft day. Same goes for players like Utah’s Eric Rowe, Connecticut’s Byron Jones and Washington’s Marcus Peters. Don’t rule out the Cowboys doubling up at this position later in the draft to get depth. They need it.
