At first look, taking Randy Gregory makes total sense. Just about every scouting service or NFL expert I’ve read this offseason says that Gregory is one of the best, if not the best edge rusher in this draft. His speed getting around the corner took out quarterbacks left and right in the Big Ten. He’s powerful and he addresses a need in Dallas, as the Cowboys will be without defensive end Greg Hardy for, at the moment, 10 games. In terms of need and talent, this is a perfect fit. I find it hard to believe that Gregory wasn’t at the top of Dallas’ board when whey came on the clock in Round 2.
