I’ve become a pretty big fan of Richardson’s annual Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival at Galatyn Park. The three-day celebration always puts together a stout lineup of musical acts from different genres, so I try to get there for at least one day each year.
What’s really nice is when several acts I want to see line up perfectly on the same stage. Such was the case last Saturday. After seeing female Led Zeppelin tribute band Zepparella early in the afternoon at the Eisemann Center, I camped out at the Wildflower! Amphitheater Stage to catch Leon Russell, .38 Special and Kansas.
Kansas closed out the evening with an 82-minute set that included all of the band’s biggest tunes, like “Point of Know Return,” “Dust in the Wind,” “Play the Game Tonight,” “Fight Fire With Fire” and, of course, “Carry On Wayward Son.”
