First and 10: Dallas Cowboys fall to San Diego Chargers in preseason.

The Dallas Cowboys lost to the San Diego Chargers , 17-7, in their first preseason game of 2015. The score hardly mattered. So did the fact that many of the Cowboys’ top players didn’t play. There were plenty of competitions and performances to keep track of, and in this edition of First-and-10 we break down the best and the worst in preseason game No. 1.

A cornerback we should be paying more attention to is Corey White. The fourth-year pro had a nice game against San Diego, breaking up a couple of passes in the first half and generally playing tight coverage throughout. On one hand it feels like the Dallas Cowboys are loaded at cornerback, mainly due to the numbers. But Brandon Carr just had surgery to repair a fracture on his hand. You’re still not sure what Morris Claiborne can give you. And you’re likely to lean heavily on a rookie, Byron Jones. White might look like the fifth cornerback, but he played more like the third on Thursday night.
