Each week RandHSports will publish our Big 12 Football Power Rankings. These rankings are based on current factors, not where we believe the teams will end up at the end of the season. They may not be reflective of each team’s overall win-loss record, either.

The last time the Baylor Bears and the TCU Horned Frogs were this good at the same time? Well, let’s go back to 1951. Yep, six years after the end of World War II the Horned Frogs won the Southwest Conference at 5-1 in league play, but went 6-5 overall. Still, that was good enough for the United Press International to rank them at No. 10 in its final poll. Baylor, meanwhile went 8-2-1 (4-1-1 in SWC action) and managed a No. 9 ranking in both the UPI and the Associated Press polls.

Entering the 2015 season the Bears and Horned Frogs are coming off double-digit win seasons, sharing the Big 12 championship and enter this season ranked in the Top 5 nationally. Unbelievable. The two private schools are the class of the Big 12 Conference entering the season. But will they be at the end of the season?
