WACO, TEX.– Six Top 25 teams lost this past weekend, including then-No. 2 Colorado State-Pueblo, which caused a massive ranking reshuffle in the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll. Minnesota State still sits at No. 1 and solidified its place in the top spot after receiving 30 of the 32 first-place votes this week. The Mavericks are followed by new No. 2 West Georgia and new No. 3 Northwest Missouri State, who received one first-place vote each. Pittsburg State (Kan.) and Ferris State (Mich.) also move up one spot each to round out the Top 5.
Colorado State-Pueblo dropped to No. 13 after its close loss to West Texas A&M, 31-30, while Ohio Dominican fell 10 places to No. 17 after losing to then-No. 20 Grand Valley State (Mich.), 27-24. Lenoir-Rhyne (N.C.) took the biggest hit in the poll this week, falling from No. 8 to No. 23 after North Greenville (S.C.) beat them, 35-13. Top spots in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference will be up for grabs in two of the three Top 25 matchups this week as No. 5 Ferris State (Mich.) travels to No. 14 Grand Valley State (Mich.), while No. 17 Ohio Dominican travels to No. 19 Ashland (Ohio). The final Top 25 matchup has No. 12 Sioux Falls (S.D.) playing host to No. 7 Minnesota-Duluth.
