TYLER, Texas – Baylor wide receiver Corey Coleman has been named The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week for the second week of the 2015 college football season.

The Big 12 Offensive Co-Player of the Week set a single-game school record with four touchdown receptions – going for 42, 21, 61 and 34 yards – and finished with 182 yards on six catches in Baylor’s win over Lamar 66-31.  Coleman now leads the country in receiving yards (180 ypg) and touchdown catches (5).

“Corey’s a freak athlete,” said junior quarterback Seth Russell.  “He didn’t get the ball the first couple series, and he let me know.  Anytime he gets the ball in his hands, he’s going to make a play.  He was just that guy tonight”.

Head Coach Art Briles on Corey Coleman’s performance, “We’ve had some great receivers here, and in Houston, also.  They’re all different and there are a lot of ways to be great.  What makes Corey great is he’s very dynamic with the football.  He’s very sudden, very strong, very powerful, and very confident.  That’s what separates him.  He’s passionate and he plays with a lot of emotion.  With emotions in check, he’s about as good as there is.”
