After two games the Texas Tech Red Raiders look like, well, the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
The offense is putting up dizzying numbers. The offense is giving up nearly as dizzying numbers. And as the Red Raiders head to Fayetteville, Ark., for this weekend’s showdown with the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Red Raiders see an opportunity to show themselves as something more than the same old Red Raiders (6 p.m. CST, ESPN2).
“We’re a long way from handling success,” Texas Tech head coach Kliff Kingsbury said. “We need to continue to get better. I like the step we took from week one to week two and we need to continue to see that each week.”
Texas Tech (2-0) is coming off a 69-20 win over UTEP, and Kingsbury is correct that the team made progress. It was needed after beating Sam Houston State, 59-45, in the opener, but giving up more than 600 yards in total yards in the process.
