It’s RandHSports.com’s Week 5 Big 12 Conference review.

Baylor finally received a conference test after three relatively stress-free games. TCU went back home to host Texas. West Virginia had a test of its own against Oklahoma while Kansas State had to dig deep at quarterback to challenge Oklahoma State. And Kansas? Iowa State? Well, let’s check it out. We cover it all below.

No. 3/4 TCU 50, Texas 7

Earlier this week I actually had people come to me and tell me that they felt Texas could win this game. I wasn’t buying it. I DID expect a closer game, mind you. But I did expect TCU to win.

It wasn’t close. TCU drilled the Longhorns. It was complete dominance. TCU (5-0, 2-0 in Big 12) scored three touchdowns in the first nine minutes. Quarterback Trevone Boykin threw five touchdown passes — again. The Horned Frogs had 602 yards of total offense. Wide receiver KaVontae Turpin — who impressed me when I saw him against SFA — had four touchdown receptions. The true freshman is apparently ready for his close-up. The defense held Texas to 315 yards.
