ALLIANCE, Ohio – There was a time when Muskingum actually dominated the all-time series against Mount Union.

The Fighting Muskies were 29-9-1 in this series after their last win in 1984, but the 56-0 win by the Purple Raiders was the 27th in a row by Mount Union, and the Division III powerhouse hasn’t lost to the Muskies now since that 24-19 setback in 1984. The only blemish in that 31-year streak is a 17-all tie back in 1988, and Mount Union now leads the series 39-29-2.

Of course, those kinds of numbers are true for just about every other Ohio Athletic Conference team as Mount Union only has one conference loss in the past 20 seasons heading into the 2015 campaign. But Muskingum has probably suffered as much as anybody at the hands of the Purple Raiders.
