ARLINGTON, Texas – The No. 8 Angelo State football team totaled 508 offensive yards dominating Bacone 56-0 in the finale of the Lone Star Football Festival at AT&T Stadium.
The Rams (3-0) scored 49 of their 56 points in the first half while limiting Bacone (0-3) to 172 yards of total offense. ASU’s defense force three Warrior fumbles held BC to just 80 yards. It is the second straight game the Rams have held an opponent to under 100 yards rushing and the first shutout since holding Incarnate Word scoreless in 2013.
Kyle Washington threw for 218 yards on 15-of-20 passing and tossed three touchdowns. Trey Green rushed for a career high 110 yards highlighted by a school record 96 yard scamper. It is the longest rush by a Ram in school history and one yard longer than Kyle Fox’s 95 yards set against West Texas A&M in 2005. Donovan Thompson was the leading receiver with 77 yards on three catches. Grant Aschenbeck recorded eight tackles while Willie Brown and Legista Beckford each made five stops. Clayton Callicutt recorded 2.0 sacks to give him 23.5 for his career and move into third on the ASU career sack list.
