Never has one college football coach had more reason to hate Twitter than Texas head coach Charlie Strong.
This was supposed to be a week in which Strong and Texas (1-4, 0-2 in Big 12) would be talking primarily about their preparation for No. 9/10 Oklahoma (4-0, 1-0 in Big 12) in the Red River Rivalry, which is naturally our RandHSports.com Spotlight Game of the Week (11 a.m. CST Saturday, ABC). Of course, Texas’ struggles this season would naturally come up and Strong would, under normal circumstances, provide some sort of polite answer about working to overcome his Longhorns’ early struggles.
But this has been no normal Texas-OU week, thanks to Twitter. Or, more precisely, his players’ use of it.
