AFCA Division III Top 25: Oct. 10, 2016

WACO, TEX.–  Glenn Caruso’s Tommies passed a major test this weekend as No. 4 St. Thomas (Minn.) traveled to MIAC rival Concordia-Moorhead (Minn.) and escaped with a 23-20 victory over the Cobbers. Their win was secured on a 21-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Alex Fenske with two seconds left on the clock. Elsewhere in the top 5, Wisconsin-Whitewater  vanquished their second top 10 opponent in as many weeks after a touchdown run with less than a minute left gave the Warhawks a 17-14 lead against former-No. 5 Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Mount Union (Ohio) retained the No. 1 spot by dismantling Heidelberg (Ohio), and No. 3 Mary Hardin-Baylor (Texas) and new-No. 5 Wheaton (Ill.) both handled their own opponents over the weekend. Wheaton tops the bill this coming weekend as they travel to CCIW rival No. 6 North Central (Ill.) in a battle of top 10 teams.
