Kansas Wesleyan is No. 1 in College Football America Yearbook’s 2019 NAIA Preseason Top 30

Kansas Wesleyan, which reached the national semifinals a year ago, is No. 1 in the College Football America Yearbook 2019 NAIA preseason Top 30.

Kansas Wesleyan became the first team from the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference to advance to the NAIA semifinals. This year, the Coyotes return four CFAY 2019 NAIA Preseason Dream Team selections in RB Demarco Prewitt, TE Charlie Simmons, OL Eli Smith and DL Shaq Bradford.

Benedictine (KS), the team that eliminated Kansas Wesleyan in the semifinals, is No. 2. Benedictine lost to Morningside in the NAIA Championship Game.

Saint Xavier, which reached the quarterfinals, is No. 3, while defending champion Morningside checks in at No. 4. Concordia (MI) rounds out the preseason Top 5.

Former national champions Marian and Saint Francis (IN) are No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. Baker, a national finalist in 2016, is No. 8, followed by Reinhardt at No. 9 and Dickinson State at No. 10.

The 2019 College Football America Yearbook features more than 930 college football teams from the United States and Canada in more than 250 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada).
