Ferris State quarterback Jayru Campbell, the reigning Harlon Hill Trophy winner, leads the 2019 College Football America Yearbook Division II Preseason Starting Lineup, CFAY’s version of an All-America team.

Campbell, who led the Bulldogs to the Division II National Championship Game before losing to Valdosta State, returns after throwing for 2,931 yards and 27 touchdowns, and rushing for 1,460 yards and 21 more touchdowns last season.

One of Ferris State’s top defensive players, LB Sam Heyboer, also made the preseason team.

Three other teams scored multiple selections — Notre Dame (OH), Lenoir-Rhyne and California (PA).

Adonis Sealey, a lineman for defending champion Valdosta State, also made the cut.

Returning AFCA First-Team All-Americans from 2018 include: Campbell, RB Jaleel McLaughlin (Notre Dame, OH), RB Gabriel Watson (Sioux Falls), WR Craig Rucker (Mars Hill), TE Erik Henneman (Lindenwood), OL Donald Boone (Chowan), DL Chris Garrett (Concordia-St. Paul), LB Austin Stephens (Miles), DB Lamont McPhatter II (California, PA) and P Josh Carlson (Dixie State).

The 2019 College Football America Yearbook features more than 930 college football teams from the United States and Canada in more than 250 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada).
