Defending FCS national champion North Dakota State is No. 1 in the College Football America Yearbook 2019 Preseason FCS Top 30.

The Bison defeated Eastern Washington, 38-24, in Frisco, Texas, to win the program’s seventh national championship in the last eight years. The CFA Yearbook has selected the Bison as either its No. 1 or No. 2 preseason team every year since 2012. NDSU players Zack Johnson and Jabril Cox are on the CFAY FCS Preseason team.

South Dakota State, which fell to NDSU in the national semifinals last December, is No. 2.

Perennial Colonial Athletic Association power James Madison is No. 3, followed by Eastern Washington at No. 4 and Jacksonville State at No. 5. UC Davis, led by QB Jake Maier, are No. 6, followed by Towson at No. 7, Weber State at No. 8, Maine at No. 9 and Wofford at No. 10.

The 2019 College Football America Yearbook features more than 930 college football teams from the United States and Canada in more than 250 striking, full-color pages. That includes every team from the NCAA (FBS, FCS, Division II and Division III), NAIA, NJCAA, CCCAA and U Sports (Canada). It also includes updates on club football, one-year postgraduate prep/sports academies and Mexican college football, along with dozens of action shots and stadium photos taken by the CFAY staff.
