2019 College Football America Yearbook Game 12: Selección Nuevo León at Texas A&M-Commerce

COMMERCE, Texas – Texas A&M-Commerce rolled to an 83-0 win over Selección Nuevo León, a contest played as part of International Day on campus.

The Lion defense limited Nuevo León to minus-83 yards of offense, with losses of 80 yards in rushing. Nuevo León did not gain a first down in the game. The victory was head coach David Bailiff’s first as head coach of the Lions. The former Rice head coach replaced Colby Carthel, who left Commerce to take over at Stephen F. Austin in nearby Nacogdoches, Texas. The Lions had 411 yards in total offense and because they built a huge lead early they were able to spread the wealth on both sides of the ball. Starting quarterback Miklo Smalls completed all four of his passes for 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Running back Spencer Long had seven carries for 73 yards and a score while Antonio Lealiiee carried the ball eight times for 65 yards and two touchdowns. The Lions had six rushing touchdowns. Along with a rushing score, JaQuorious Smith also opened the second half with a 70-yard kickoff return for a score while Kader Kohou had a 66-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Devin Beamon made a tackle for a safety as one of 22 Lion tackles for losses on 41 Nuevo León plays.
