WACO, TEX.– After going into the half tied, then-No. 19 Montana State came out strong to start the third quarter. Following 28 unanswered points, the Bobcats had done everything they needed to do to secure the 38-17 upset victory over then-No. 13 Southeast Missouri State. The Bobcats win propelled them up four spots to No. 15 in this weeks’ AFCA FCS Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.

North Dakota State received all 26 first place votes and remained the No. 1 team in the nation. The rest of the top five also remained unchanged with James Madison, South Dakota State, UC Davis and Eastern Washington sitting at spots two through five.

This week saw two teams jump into the top 25 for the first time this season. Villanova checks in at No. 23 following their 38-10 victory over Lehigh to improve to 2-0 on the season. Southeastern Louisiana checks in at No. 24 following an unexpected off-week due to Hurricane Dorian and will be back in action on September 14 at Mississippi.

Week 3 features a trio of top 25 matchups as No. 1 North Dakota State travels to No. 18t Delaware. No. 5 Eastern Washington will also hit the road and travel to Alabama to take on No. 16 Jacksonville State. Last but not least, No. 9 Maine will look to bounce back against No. 8 Towson in a Colonial Athletic Association matchup.
